Election time everywhere

This is going to be about something that I have no interest in, politics.
Seems like Singapore is getting busy soon with their General Election on 6th May.
And in Sarawak, we're also going to have our state general election.
If you've experienced how the election in Malaysia was. You will surely smile right now.
Why?
Well, this is the time when you can see the politicians come down and shake hands with the civilians like you and me. They'll even go to long houses in rural areas to gain the people's support.
There's nothing wrong with that. In fact, it's a good thing.
And you will see there's so many flyers hanging from electric polls to another electric polls that shows the reps and their party's logo. For me, that is a waste of paper. There are so many things can be done with the fund, maybe charity or for education purpose?
There's so many schools that can use that amount of money to get new books for their library.
And there's an interesting blog by a fellow blogger, Uchu keling shares his thought of the political issues.

And in this photo, you can definitely can see the statistic shows how people have very low sense of trust towards politicians, no matter where they are from around the world.
The politicians in Malaysia is the second lowest after UK.
Guess, I should not be a politician if I want to proceed with my personal wealth building plan. Lol!

East Coast Park Escapade

It's a long postpone because I promised to upload some of the photos that I took last weekend.

The beach here reminds me of Air Papan in Johore. The water is clear. But the beach here is a bit polluted. I think it's because of the ships not far away from the shore.

But then, there's still a lot of people come here during weekends and also public holidays.
The place is nice, and you also can ride bicycle here if you want to pay S$6/hr for it or if you're rugged, you should try the inline skate, which the shop owners there rent for S$3/ hr.

Since we're in the mood to play with the water that day, we didn't bother to ride bicycle or the inline skate.
It was a fun experience. I wanna come here again soon :)

Mundane week

It's been a mundane week at work. Nothing exciting happened.
During the Good Friday holiday, I just stay at home whole day.
That's really boring, isn't it?
Well, I only went out at night, just to do some important matter. Like, buying dinner. Lol!
It's sunday today, and I am actually just came back from the east coast beach park to celebrate Daniel's girlfriend's birthday.
She brought along her friends. Most are pretty girls, hehe!
Well, we went swimming and took some photos(I'll upload them tomoro).
We also have so many delicious food prepared by the girls.
Maybe I should consider any of them as my future wife. Hehe.

Bowling, Snooker & Claypot chicken rice

I went for a few rounds of bowling and snooker game at the Superbowl in Taman Jurong last night.
Last time we went there during weekend, and it's crowded. We learned our lesson, this time, we go there on weekday :)
And we're right, it's damn quiet that night. Not many youngsters went there.
So, at least, I can play using what ever style I want cos there's no one watching me.

I am not the best snooker player, but I found it playing snooker is a great way to release stress.
I should come here more often. Haha.

And I am not surprised I didn't win the game last night. :)

We actually went to Jurong Point and had some food before going down to Taman Jurong.
All my friends had some laksa and while I try something else, which I didn't finish in the end.

Even though the laksa look rather plain to me, they are all devouring it as if it's delicious.
Maybe it's really delicious. I don't know.

As for me, I had this Claypot chicken rice cos it looks nice on the poster (lol!!)
But then, I end up getting something looks quite different.

How I wished I just went to KFC and have some Zinger Meal. That's more to my liking :p

I look like I am enjoying my food, didn't I? Wrong! I am forcing myself to swallow the so-called Claypot chicken rice.

I don't think I will give it a try again.

Yahoo Mail Beta

I have been using yahoo mail for quite some time already. And I think I fall in love with their email service. It's getting better and better each day.
If you want to know what I am talking about, you can try it yourself, they have a beta feature of their latest email system.
You just need to drag and drop the email you have read into the folders you have created so that so can manage ur mailbox better.
The colum is seperated into a few parts. The left side is for the folders and compose buton.
To check if there is any new mails, you just need to click on the check mail button and it will refresh the server. If there is any new email, it will immediately appear.
To view your message down here in this handy reading pane, just click on one of those messages up there.
To select more than one, hold the Shift or Control key and click the desired messages.
It's really cool.
If you're an existing Yahoo mail user, you can try it out too.

LDS chapel in Miri

I am very happy to know that my hometown now owns a latter-day saints first chapel in whole Malaysia that is not created on shophouses.
Even though I didn't manage to join Miri city chapel on 19 March.
But hey, I got the photo which one of the missionary showed to me :)

I can't wait to go back to Miri and join my friends for the next sacrament meeting. it would be fun!

It's Bowling time

I went for a few round of bowling last saturday night.
It's fun to play it with friends sometime.

I have not played in for quite some time already, so some of my tries became gutter balls.
I am not sure why, it looks so easy on the computer game. Lol.
Anyway, we played 3 rounds and I am lucky enough not to be the worst one.

Ok, now that's a gutter ball face, lol!

The atmosphere here is not bad. They also have a place where you can play snookers and also arcade games.
And it's not too noisy.
I would surely come and play bowling here again, maybe next weekend :)

I saw an interesting article in the New Paper for 28 March publication.
It is about jobs scam in Singapore.
If you are from Malaysia, you will know that there are advertisements in Malaysian newspapers that offers secure jobs in Singapore. Some claim that they can offer jobs as welders and also technicians. But when they entered Singapore, they end up with jobs that Singaporeans don't want.
There are a few reasons why foreigners (like me) want to work here?
1. Attractive currency exchange rate
2. Lifestyle
As for me, I am attracted with the currency exchange rate. If you can discipline yourself and managed to save some money while working here, the time spent here is worth it.
But then, the lifestyle here is sort of expensive. Every second requires money.
Just take an example, if you buy a car here, which not many Singaporeans themselves can't afford, you will need to spend a lot of money, no matter what. Because the parking space costs money, if you didn't buy the parking coupon, you will need to pay the fine, which is around $50.
It's no wonder the old folks here still need to work even when they have reach an age where their peers in another country can enjoy life.

Jamie Oliver Feed Me Better Campaign

I woke up very early this morning, (6am is early, right?)
The first thing that I did was switching on the TV.
And guess what? They're showing Jamie Oliver. I like his cooking show.
I was quite surprised and wondered why was it aired so early.
But it doesn't matter anyway.

The show was about Feed Me Better campaign done by Jamie Oliver in UK schools.
What was the purpose of this campaign?
Well, it was due to the fact that the youngsters in Europe are facing obesity.
And one of the reason was because of the food they served in the school cafeteria.
In short, it's a healthier school food campaign.

While watching the show, I saw how he gradually changed the eating habits of the youngsters. At first, they don't even want to taste the food.
And later, they start to try out the sandwich, without the veges that is.
By the way, I wonder, what makes them hate vegetable so much? It's so delicious.

I am not sure how is it progressing, but I am sure it made an impact when he submitted 270,000 signatures for a petition that he personally handed over to Prime Minister Blair and Education Secretary Kelly in March 2005.

Well, I actually met with Bluetech on Friday night, I knew him from forum that I joined.
Well, that's the first time I met him. :) He's friendlier than I thought.
We just went to a kopitiam in Jurong West and chit chatted till around 11pm.
Talks about everything under the sun. Lol..

Anyway,last night I met with an old friend at the Causeway Point. Her name is See Yee. She's one of my ex-course mates while I was still a student in UTM.
She introduced me to an exciting place to advertise my online ventures. But they're still under development. What is exciting about this advertising venue is that it's going to implement referral based concept to advertise the website. Talking about viral marketing. The website will be launched on 1st April, 2006. (Pls dont April Fool me in advance, my dear friend.. Lol) And it's on the same date as the launching of Biz Buzz and The Country Club.

While I was on my way back, I suddenly have the inspiration to take a photo of the

Al Fresco and The Balcony

Well, I am at a cyber cafe right now. Nothing much to do.
Chatting with a few friends, Stella my ex-primary school mate in UK and also Danny in China.
My brother is coming to Singapore soon. He's been working as a bartender in The Balcony. That's one of the most happening night club in Miri. Hehe.
But, I think that is a good thing to do, because I don't really like him to work there. I myself used to work as a waiter at Al Fresco, well, Al Fresco is actually owned by the same person, The Ma family.
Well, they're actually good people. In fact, they are one of the few successful business family in Miri.
If I am running a business, especially the food and entertainment industry, I might try out their model for Al Fresco. It's different from any other foodstalls you see around Miri. Well, I am talking based on my own experience one year ago. Correct me if I am wrong.
As for the Balcony. There are a few options available. I am not a clubber myself. So, I am not gonna go into details about this.
Argh. It's 9pm now. Gonna take my dinner now :)

Sick, Fever, Google Adwords, Girls.

It's so hot today, I mean, the weather is so hot today.
If only I don't have to work today, then I can just go to Sentosa. Hehe. I am sure the ambience of the beach will heal me, emotionally and physically.
Oh, sound so pathetic.
Anyway, there's 2 new girls start their work. One work in the office as a admin assistant while another one as a technician. And the interesting part is, both are cute, hehe.
Anyway, I met up with a sales representative from Bain & Mercer approached me. They're specialising in Google Sponsored Link aka Adwords.
They quoted me for the price of SGD2.8K for their initial service payment. And they say can expect profit of around SGD45k during that period.. Hmmph..
Let me see. That sounds very interesting. And maybe they're right.
But my biz partner think we should use other source of advertising. And perhaps we should just do it ourselves, I think I have to agree.
well, life's like that.
I gotta wait for another year here. So, I will just enjoy it.

I have been a big fan of Linkin Park, and it happen to be Mike Shinoda is also a featured singer in this album.
There are a few interesting songs in this album, my favourites are "Believe Me" and also "Petrified". The tune is catchy and the lyrics are creative.

Well, although Mike Shinoda is not really my favourite member of Linkin Park, (mine is Chester! hehe) but at least this album is almost as good as Linkin Park's album.

Don't be afraid to use all the space in your photo. If you want to take a picture of something, it's ok for it to take up the whole shot with no or very little background showing. Keep distractions out of your shot

Tip 2 - Study Forms

This is a vital aspect to photography. Understanding forms in your photos. Don't see an object, she its shape and its form and find the best angle to photograph it from. Form is all around us and I highly suggest you read as many books on it as possible.

Tip 3 - Motion In Your Photos

Never have motion in your photos if you are photographing a still object. If there is something moving while you are trying to photograph a stationery object, your photo won't turn out anywhere near as well. Also never put a horizon line in the center of your frame.

Tip 4 - Learn To Use Contrasts Between Colors.

Some of the best photos have shades of white, gray and black. You can take great shots with just one color on your subject, but the contrasts between colors in a shot is what makes you a great photographer.

Tip 5 - Get Closer To Your Subject

This is one of the biggest mistakes most photographers make, not getting close enough to their subject. Get up and personal and close the distance gap. You can always reshape and resize a good shot but you can't continue to blowup a distant object.

Tip 6 - Shutter Lag

Shooting action shots with digital camera's can be tricky due to shutter lags. What this means is, when you press the button to take the photo, it can take up to a second for the shutter to take a photo, by that time what you were photographing would have moved or changed somehow. This means you have to compensate for shutter lag by predicting what your subject is going to do and taking the photo just before it takes the action you want. More expensive digital cameras don't have this problem.

Tip 7 - Pan

If you are taking an action shot and your shutter speed is slow, pan with the object. Follow through with the subject, from start to finish and one of those shots will be a winner. You have more chance of getting a good shot if you take more then one photo.

Tip 8 - Continuous Shots

To pan like I suggested above you will need a camera that does continuous shots and doesn’t need to stop and process after every shot.

Tip 9 - How To Take Fantastic Night Time Shots

Night time shots can be spectacular, almost magical.... if done right! If not they can look horrible. Really horrible. Without adequate lighting, even good camera's can turn out crappy photos if the photographer doesn't know what he or she is doing.

Tip 10 - Study Your Manual

If your digital camera has a special night time mode, read the manual and follow their instructions on how to use it properly.

Sad events these few days

Chinese New Year is coming soon.. but then two of my colleagues lost their family members.
One of them lost her father in-law last week, while another one lost her grandmother this morning. What a coincidence.
so, it means that my ang pow level is not gonna be as much as I have expected. (I'm just kidding)
Anyway, it's quite sad I guess. Besides losing their loved ones, they can't celebrate CNY, because things like this happen.
And one thing, my website is down till after CNY. Argh! I hate this kind of things. I am losing money...
But I think everything happened for a reason. (yes, I gotta find out what's wrong with my host provider)

Wow.. Chinese New Year (CNY) is coming soon. My boss is gonna distribute ang pow to everyone this monday. =) I don't know how much I am going to get. But I am not expecting too much. Lol.
This year, I am going to celebrate my CNY in Singapore. I am planning to get some cool photos from Chinatown tonight.
Rampai and I went to Jurong Point last night. He bought a new MP3 Player, Creative Brand. This is the 3rd one that he bought. The first one, he sold it to his friend and he earn S$10 for the songs inside. If I were him, I would have get a profit of S$100. Haha... it requires effort to get the songs in you know.
Right now, there's Pasar Malam at the Boon Lay MRT station. Went there last night and bought something. There's a lot of things to buy.
Well, hopefully everything will be as planned. My brother still haven't give me the photos I requested. Sigh. Slow...
Desmond has been kind enough to give me some photos to be featured in my webpage about Miri. Trying to come up with descriptions about them now.. Will upload a new page about Miri after I am done.

- Contests which do not post or provide rules or requirements or even any details about the company running it. A legitimate contest will provide rules to participants and if it does not, it is probably just a ploy to get information on you.

How to Spot the Red Flags

- Does the price seem too good to be true? If so, it probably is.

- Are you pressured to make a decision on the spot?

- Did you get the call after business hours. Legitimate businesses normally operate between regular business hours.- Did they require you to pay before you receive any details about the trip, or ask you to pay for more information.- Are you told you can’t leave for two months? This should be cause for concern because the deadline for disputing a credit card charge is 60 days. - Is the supplier simply identified as "a major airline," or a “popular hotel” without getting into specifics?

- If you have won a free vacation, you should not be asked to pay hundreds of dollars in order to “claim” your prize.

How to protect yourself from Travel Scams

- Determine the complete cost of the trip in dollars, including all service charges, taxes, processing fees, etc.

- Pay by credit card, if you don't get what you paid for, you may be able to dispute the charges with your credit card company.

- Don't be pressured into buying anything, legitimate businesses don't pressure you to make a purchase.

- Get a receipt in writing. If you make reservations online, print out the itinerary and receipt.

- Find out the exact names of the hotels, airports, airlines, and restaurants that your package includes; if they tell you a "major hotel chain" or "major airline" ask for specifics

- Always ask for a copy of the cancellation and refund policies.- If you are told that you've won a free vacation, ask if you have to pay any money in order to get it.

- Be aware of what "subject to availability" means may not get the accommodations you want when you want them.

- Be aware that if you have been “specially selected to receive our Super Duper Travel Deal offer" doesn't mean you'll get it free, it means you'll be offered an opportunity to pay for a travel deal!

And last but not least, be skeptical. Read or listen to carefully what is being said, not what you want to hear. We would all like to win that all expenses paid dream vacation to Hawaii, but like everything else, you get what you pay for if you don’t pay attention first.

First, by doing some biking, aerobics or long walks, one is able to condition the muscles for those long tours. By obtaining information on the weather or climate so as to pack the right clothes for the trip and the condition of the drinking water are just some examples one can also work on. By purchasing water purification tablets before going to a place with suspect water sources, one is able to avoid getting any sickness from the water.

Yesterday was a disappointing day. I have planned to go to Siloso and Palawan beach at Sentosa Island, and it was raining cats and dogs. I end up going to Holland Village at the Buena Vista and found nothing to be done.
What a waste.
But I seek my brother's help to get me some nice photo in Miri, so that I can introduce my hometown to my friends :)
Then, perhaps.. I can convince them why is Miri called as a Resort City.
I have planned to feature the Miri City Fan, the Esplanade, and also maybe some of the National Park's photo. That if my brother have the time to go there.
We'll see how everything goes.

Raining Again~

It's been raining whole night and day since Sunday morning.
This kind of weather really dampen my mood.
Sigh~ I hope it won't rain tomorrow though as I am planning to go Sentosa, cos I wanna update my site, which I plan to transform to something that talks about my travelling experience.

The past few days was tiring.. Went to Orchard Road and joined the crowd, spraying each other with the artificial snow.

King Kong, The Movie.

Watched King Kong, the movie last night.
I would say it is the best movie of its kind.
It starts quite mundane at first. And the plot starts to build after the 1st hour.
The movie's duration was 3 hours, and I feel that every minute and dollar I spent was worth it.

What makes this movie interesting?
Well, it's basically about how unpredictably evil human can be.
Even a beast like King Kong can understand a simple common sense like mercy.
I would've say human is more beast-like than King Kong.

The part that I like the most?
It was when King Kong and Ann were some sort of like snow-skiing.
And the Christmas tree.
Suddenly it feels so peaceful and happy. And the suspense continue when the armies start shooting at King Kong.

The most touching part?
It was a few seconds before King Kong fall from the skycrapper. I can feel how sad it was.
And I feel like I want to be there to stop them from shooting at King Kong.
The way it looks at Ann was so full of emotion. Bravo!

Anyway, I feel so sick to look at how good the "director" can manipulate everyone to achieve his goal. He's so good. And I hate it. And I also wonder what the heck is he thinking when he brought King Kong to New York.I hate the fact that we are indeed selfish, just like "the director".

Actually I didn't have the intention to watch the movie. Because I am going to watch the Chronicles of Narnia soon. But, after finish watching it, I feel like I want to watch another 3 more times. Well, of course I won't.

I highly recommend you to watch King Kong, the movie if you haven't.

Ward Christmas Party

I managed to went to my ward's christmas party last Saturday, 17 December 2005.
It was a fun experience to have a chance to mingle with other LDS members.
Anyway, I was a bit disappointed not to see Lind there.
How can she do that? I mean, she promised to come.

But nevermind.
Anyway, there were a lot of food served that night. Went there with W.
He's another YSA in our ward. A friendly guy.

Both of us arrived a little bit late, but just in time to enjoy the food.
After we're all done with eating, we have a few programs running on that night.
First of all, we have a video presentation about Jesus Christ and the restored gospel through Prophet Joseph Smith. It was a good video show.
After that we have choir presentation from the primary and young men and women.
The hymns that they sang were good.

Actually when they started it was a bit funny because they felt awkward, and I can see that from their facial expression.

But after we all join in and sing along and clap with them, they became more cheerful. Yeah, sometimes, you gotta give them some motivation, right?
Anyway, the best part was we have a Santa Claus that night.
Everyone was so excited about it. I would've join in if there's not too many people lining up to see Santa! Haha!

This is my first time to celebrate Christmas Party in an LDS church as an expat. The feeling is of course very different. And I like it.

Last few years I was celebrating it with my fellow course-mates back in Johore. But, the group is only limited, because it is only among University Students. The church itself belongs to the University group. And there are many different groups.
That was before I was baptised in LDS church.

And yeah, this year I have my favourite song for Christmas. Of course not Jingle Bell, hehe.

It's "A happy Christmas(War is over)" by John Lennon.

Movies

Let's talk about movies..
I watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire a few weeks ago...
The Harry Potter movie was a great one. Even though I don't read the book, but I like the movie very much.
But some of my friends from other churches told me they'll not watch it. I think it's a waste.
Well, it's a good movie to grow your imagination.
One of the scenes I like is when the students from other wizardry institutions show up with their styles. The girls enter with their elegance and the boys’ macho entry with their thumping sounds. So cool!
Shame on me because I don't watch movies that often, unless I feel like it really worth the time and money I spend. Well, time play a more important role here.
And the person who invites me to watch plays an important role too.
I wonder why there will always be good movies when it's around December.
Maybe it's because of school holidays?
Oh well…
And another one I am waiting to be on screen is "The Chronicles of Narnia". I am a fan of the book. What is so interesting about the book?
Well, it is a very entertaining book, because the writer, C.S Lewis managed to create the environment for Narnia. He has a very high imagination level.
It’s about another world like ours with the name Narnia. And there are beasts that can communicate with human in Narnia. They’re called generally as “The Talking Beast”.
And there is a Lion, named Aslan. He is the one who created Narnia. Other animals always explain that he is not a “Tame Lion”.
I saw the trailer and I notice it has some similarity with "The Lords of the Ring".
I am talking about the trailer. I haven't watched it yet, because it will be in Singapore cinemas on 22nd December.
I wish I have time to go to Johore and watch it at City Square on 8 December. But I just can't.

And one thing I want to clarify here is I am a fan of so-called scary movies and Chinese movies.
Wait! Before you call me racist, well, I am a Chinese myself. But, I don't really look like Chinese and I know that doesn't matter.
People say I look more like a Malay dude and that doesn't matter too.
I am not really a movie-goer. And I always go alone. But I guess that is better because at least I can enjoy it and don’t have to act and pretend to be like someone else.

This time let's talk about me.

What do you need to know about me?
I am from Miri, a city in Sarawak. In case you don't know where is Sarawak, it's in Malaysia.
If you still don't know, don't have to trouble yourself and look for it.
I have 5 younger brothers. The next after me is 20 years old, and the youngest is only 3 years old. Well, the last time I saw them was March 2005. I miss them all, especially my youngest brother.
Well, my dad is doing odd jobs. He's a good father. But he has problem to show his love to us. Maybe that's why I am like this. I will talk about that next time, if I bother. My mum is a full time house wife. I miss the food that she cook.

My vision in life.
I have a long term vision in my life. I want to build a few online biz, in fact, I am running some now. But, it's an on and off thing because of my challenging job nature. But, I am in a phase looking for niche markets and marketing techniques that is suitable with me.
I can feel I am almost there. Time will tell. It's like "Get rich or die trying".

How exactly I can be here?
I guess it's some sort of like "A series of unfortunate events". Things went out of control and I decide to find a new beginning abroad.
And that was when Singapore came into the picture. Or, is it the other way round?
The first 6 months of my life here was tough. I spent days and night pondering and re-evaluating my decision. And thinking of other options.
But I always bear in mind that things will get better. It has to. And I endure.
And things start to turn better after that. I start to feel glad to be here. And I am back on track to be the next young millionaire in Miri. And they'll call me "The Millionaire Next Door".

Why am I still here?
I mentioned that the past six months has been the darkest period in my life. So, why do I still right here waiting?
I myself wonder why. But I feel that Singapore is an interesting place to be. It doesn't mean Miri is nothing. But hey, I have a lot for the past 6 months, and it will be a waste to just runaway after the dark period. Now is the moment I found the enlightenment. So, I guess I should stay another year. And see what will happen. I think TIME is more or less like an invaluable investment.
Time is a prescious asset and I don't want to fool around.

Another busy day

Well, today is really like my worst day ever.
What's worse, is my leave application for this Saturday is not approved. That means I won't be able to celebrate the christmas dinner celebration in my ward.
I hate it.
And it also mean, I probably won't be able to meet up with Lind.
I need to do follow-up. Ugh.. And this Saturday will be the only day I can see her.
Isn't it pathethic?!
She is actually from my ward, but she told me that she went to another church in Suntec City with a "friend".
And then I ask around, I was told that she is already attached. Well, of course just a boyfriend. Or else...
I don't know. What's happening is beyond my understanding.
Just waiting for anything now. Come what may!

Talking about busy-ness. I am so busy with my boss' business right now. Argh!
If I will not die jumping down from a high-rise building, I don't know how many times I have jump already.

Okay, enough of the craps. Need to pack and run from this place NOW!

Christmas Dinner and Girls.

Holla.
Well, I am back again.
Life has been a bit messy these few days.
But, it's like that.
Anyway, yesterday night I went to one of my friend's house for Christmas Dinner Gathering.
V and Nat are going to further study in B.Y.U Hawaii next year, and they're leaving next week.
That's cool...
Anyway, I met with a new girl yesterday. She's one of the young single adults in my ward. But I never notice her before this. Well, she has been inactive for quite some time already. Let's just call her Lind. So, she's very talkative and sweet.
And I don't know if she know I am attracted to her.
Hopefully I didn't be too obvious..
So, last night both of us went back home together taking cab from Bukit Batok MRT station, after the dinner is over of course. She's mentioning about how her working life is and all that.
Well, as I mentioned, I have a girlfriend in my hometown, but she's not a Christian. So, I am considering to let go. Maybe she will be better off without me.
But, it's just so hard to explain it to her.
I feel so guilty now.
What should I do?

Let's talk about my hometown, Miri first...
Although I am in Singapore at the moment and not expecting to go back any sooner, but I am really a village boy at heart.
It's not that Miri is a small town, in fact, Miri is one of the fastest developing town in Malaysia.
And Miri has been upgraded to Resort City Status last August.
I was in Singapore during that time. But I heard from my girlfriend in Miri that it indeed was a very extravagant event.
What is so special about Miri?
For me, it's a city that has its own pace. Life in Miri is more laid back.
Old folks, like my grandmother don't have to worry about not having money to support live.
Because although things are getting expensive, but it doesn't force them to earn money for living.
At least they don't have to work for others.
I will talk about that in details next time, if I bother.

I do not have a lot of Singaporean friends.
Well, most of my friends are my colleagues and churchmates.
I don't have any other people outside of the circle at the moment.
That's why I don't know what I should say in details about what's the difference about lifestyle in Singapore and Miri.
But I know that most of the people here are a little bit hostile.
No offence but I am just telling my honest opinion.

In Singapore, the old folks are encouraged to work even after they retire.
Why is that so?
Well, I am working in a cleaning company, so I sometimes got to interview some old aunties and uncles for their job applications.
Some of them look so weak and I just feel they won't stay long with the job.
And I am right most of the time.

Let me talk about an uncle that used to work as a driver in our company.
He's old but very dilligent.
Let's just call him Uncle Yap.
I personally adore his working style.
But sometimes he push himself too hard.
He passed away last July.
It was a sad event for most of us here.
It feel as if I can relate myself to him even closer than me with my father.
But life has to go on.

How I wish I can show you some nice photos of Miri here.
I will try to do that when I am back in Miri, maybe in the end of January, to celebrate Chinese New Year.
I miss my family and friends.

Tense and miserable.
That's the best words to describe me right now.
So many things need to be done..
I don't even know if I will have time to finish them.
Working in a cleaning company can make you a better person.
What do I mean?
Well, you can learn to do a lot of urgent things in one time.
Interesting, isn't it?
Suddenly a customer calling in and asking for urgent disaster restoration...
There we go again.

But, that's just life.
If you learn how to handle problems, you get the money.
Simple, yeah.. At least for my boss, at the moment.

Cheque time

I'm in the office today.
Well, doing the boring job, putting cheque into envelopes..
Argh...
It's the beginning of the month, that's why.
This morning was so busy. I have to keep record of all the machines and chemicals going out.
And there's so many float cleaners today.
That's a cleaner's life.
Always busy...
But people never realise how important cleaners are.
They're just taken for granted.
Too bad, huh?

I'm working as an admin assistant in a cleaning company.
Cleaning is a good business in Singapore.
Well, been here for 8 months already.
Set up an online forum for my company too.

Anyway, I am joining a church in Pasir Panjang, it's a Latter-day Saints church.
But more well-known with the name "Mormon church".
I will talk more about my friends in church later.
